Scafell Pike

is on the top of the large plateau in the middle. We started at 20:20. As night fell, cloud started to envelope the plateau.

Summit fog 1

We delayed turning on our torches as long as possible, being forced to do so 15-30 mins prior to this shot. The fog scattered our light in all directions, making it incredibly hard to find the trail, or the summit cairn here, which we reached around 22:45.

Summit fog 2

All the summits were below freezing. We got lost once and it took all our skill to find the trail down. We finished at 00:10, departing for Ben Nevis at 00:15. I (AK) was so disorientated by the cloud I thought we were still on the rocky plateau when we reached the half-way stream!
